Sunshine Express is a singing group made up of students from 3rd-5th grade. Taught by Mr. Griffith, Sunshine Express performs each year at the Kauai Christmas Parade at Kukui Grove Shopping Center and the Lights On Rice Parade from Vidinha Stadium to the County Building. The Sunshine Express also takes their show on the road as they visit care homes, hotels and the KCC Performing Arts Center.
Kalaheo School Ukulele Club is so dedicated to jammin' that they arrive at school one day each week at 7:15 am to practice together. The club is facilitated by some great parent volunteers.
A school band is a group of student musicians who rehearse and perform instrumental music together. Not every elementary school is fortunate enough to have a school band; in fact, Kalaheo is the only elementary school on Kauai with this distinction. Our band is made up of students in the 4th and 5th grades who play instruments provided by VH1 Saves the Music. “The kids are so excited to be playing these awesome instruments” according to Mr. Griffith the leader of the band. The kids are committed to learning the songs and mastering the instruments. They meet before school and during school hours. When you see a student traveling the campus with an instrument in tow you are looking at one more example of what makes Kalaheo School great.

Each Spring, the County of Kauai heads up an island wide track meet where all elementary schools participate. The cost to run is free. Kalaheo School students of all ages are invited to partake in building a strong mind and body, supporting one another, and having lots of fun! Commitment is based on your availability for a short 4 week period. The track event is held on a Saturday in April. Specific date TBA. Look for more information in March.
Kalaheo School Track team is run by parent volunteers. Currently, we are looking for volunteers for the upcoming event. If you are interested, please be on the lookout for more information.
The library is available for the students to use.

Kalaheo School welcomes back it’s PRIDE Center- known to students as a super fun place they get to go on Fridays if they earn the privilege by being a PRIDE Student. The center is a place that recognizes outstanding students who strive to demonstrate the general learner outcomes (GLOs) or those essential life skills that are important to life in and out of school. Teachers will select PRIDE students from their classes who were outstanding student models that week to play in the PRIDE Center. Encourage your child to be a PRIDE student by doing their homework, working with others, getting to class on time, and being good citizens on the playground so they too can earn a trip to the PRIDE Center!
