Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to a new school year! All of us at Kalaheo Elementary School would like to make this a successful year for your child. Your active support and cooperation, combined with our best professional efforts will ensure academic success for all our students. I am proud of our staff, and I feel fortunate to work with such dedicated, talented teachers. I invite you to become involved in Kalaheo School, and I encourage you to visit. There is a spirit of cooperation and progress at our school that we would like to share with you.

There will be many school activities that will help you become involved in your child's education. I encourage you to make these activities a part of your schedule. The home-school partnership is strengthened by your involvement. Please feel welcome to visit classrooms and to volunteer in them.

Not all parents or guardians can attend school functions, but all can show interest in their child's schoolwork by setting aside a few minutes each day to:
* listen while your child describes school day activities
* read to your child
* listen while your child reads to you
* help with homework
* limit the viewing of television

Please feel free to stop in and introduce yourself to me, or to ask a question about anything that concerns you. I look forward to working together as partners in learning.
