Measurement Day
There are many ways to learn how to measure in math class, and our 2nd graders are becoming measuring experts by participating in the Measurement Day. They compared the weights of items using a balance scale, they calculated the area of their feet using a marker and some grid paper, they measured distance by throwing paper plate discus and cotton ball shot put, and they determined the volume of water a household sponge could hold. What a great way to practice measuring! Check it out!
